Your experience matters.

2 months into this shindig and we’re still going strong!  So I would like to take a minute to say “thank you” to all of you who have come into our little bike shop and given us your business, trusted our advice, and generally been so gracious with the well-wishing and compliments on our shop.  I would like to say that I had a pretty good idea that we would be successful early on in our little bike business but in reality it was a huge leap of faith to step into this professionally and I’m so grateful that we did.

Recently, the question was posed to you about what kind of bike shop you want to visit.  I can honestly say that experience is the most important aspect of a good bike shop.  However, I’m not referring to the experience of the guy behind the work stand, although that is important, but rather the customer’s experience when they walk in the door.  Are you listened to?  Did you get the bike that was right for you or the one that was right for the guy who sold it to you?  There is no denying that in today’s world of instant online searches, one-click buying options, and site-to-door service the retail industry is changing.  We realize and accept that we cannot possibly satisfy all your cycling needs, but we are working hard to satisfy most of them.

Recently, we signed up with Swiftwick Socks to provide you with what we feel are the best socks on the planet.  We brought in a HUGE selection of Park Tools for you home mechanics, and we are expanding our women’s’ and kids’ selection of bikes and equipment.  But more than that, we are pushing to bring you the cycling events to get you rolling with a community of cyclists.  On Labor Day, we are sponsoring the Young Life of Ashland County Ultimate Ride.  This is a charity ride with some fantastic terrain all around Ashland and East Richland County.  We are also happy to announce Ashland’s first cyclo-cross race, the Freer Cross Festival on October 15th, 2017.  Come join us for food, music, and cyclo-cross racing all day long.  A citizens race and youth events are also part of the fun, so there’s no reason to sit out of this one.

Finally, I want to say thank you to all of you who have been a part of this business from the beginning.  Its more than just a bike shop we are trying to do here, and many of you get that and are happy to support us.  For all of you that have been praying for our endeavor and helping in the store, thank you!  And to my wife who has been “widowed” this summer through starting this shop, a special thank you is deserved.

Ashland, I want you to know how much this town means to all of us at Ashland Bike Company.  Please stop in and see us anytime, and we’ll keep bringing you the best bike shop we can.
